Planet Explorers Free Download for PC Full Version
Planet Explorers is an open world sandbox adventure RPG game set on a distant planet. The game uses a new OpenCL calculated voxel system to allow players to change the terrain in any way, create new objects such as weapons, vehicles, objects, and do it anywhere.
In Planet Explorers, it is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explorer, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, build a new home.

Planet Explorers features single and multiplayer modes.
In single player there are 3 distinct selections
Story Mode – Story mode is the main meat and bones of the game, it is the action-adventure-rpg-somewhat-4X segment, offering npcs, missions, colony building, farming, training, diplomacy, and of course, a storyline that you can follow or ignore. This story features a 17X8km world map with many unique character, landscapes, biomes, locations, and over 140 types of potential enemies. Even though we’ve made it seem like a very action oriented game in the trailers, in reality, players can choose to not fight so much as to just plant a farm, make some food, keep the colonists alive, negotiate with the sentient aliens, and defend the perimeter from the local life forms. That can still eventually arrive at the ending. And yes, there is an ending. Story mode also features coop with other players.
Adventure Mode – This mode is based on a procedural map generated from a seed. It comes in a 40X40 kilometer map. Players will be able to complete random missions, defeat bosses, dive through dungeons, and explore different landscapes. This mode also features survival and versus.
Build Mode – In this mode, there are no enemies and an infinite amount of building material. It also currently comes in a 40X40km map. Players will be able to build whatever they want in this mode, including everything in the Creations Editor. Think of this as the perfect testing ground to test everything you build. Or…it’s your place to build your garden without ever worrying about the pesky aliens.
Multiplayer allows Local Area Network and player hosted servers. We also have many official servers in the lobby.
Coop – Coop comes in many selections, such as adventure mode, story mode, build mode, etc. This is pretty much an open world sandbox.
Versus – This mode allows teams of up to 16 players to battle against 16 players from another team. We allow full terrain manipulation in this mode. It’s a point based system where one team wins if they reach a certain point level based on kills, built objects, resources mined, etc.
I’ve been playing this game on and off since the very beginning of the Early Access. It’s one of, if not my favorite game in the Sandbox/Open World/Survival genre. You should consider this as an early access review since I haven’t yet played the release version of the game.
What sets this game apart from other games like it is that it has an epic story and feel, and the story mode can be played coop. It’s a “go at your own pace” story where you do quests and/or side quests which usually reward you with gear/recipes. However, you can also skip all the quests and just purchase most of the gear/recipes at the npc shops if you prefer to do it that way.
The scenery is awesome and many locations feel epic. This is because in story mode the terrain was hand crafted and not randomly generated like other games. There are plains, deserts, huge forests with giant trees, etc. each with different creatures. The creatures and vegetation are some of the most unique and alien I have seen in any game. I believe in the adventure game mode the terrain is randomly generated but I haven’t played that mode much yet.
The crafting system is very unique and you can build custom weapons, vehicles, boats, helicopters, etc. and the materials you use matter. NPC “shops” exist where you can buy most of the recipes or if you are patient you can do quests which usually reward you with recipes and/or items.
Once you have discovered a point of interest in the game, you can spend the game’s currency (meat) to fast travel between any point of interest, It has a unique mining system where you can scan for ore deposits, and you can put comments on the map, so you can get back to the deposits later. The voxel terrain is destructable, and contains underground caverns to explore. You mine for ores, cut down trees, hunt beasts, etc. to get materials for crafting.
I personally really like the sound track.
I can’t think of much not to like about this game. I guess bugs were probably the greatest deterrent a while back. Multiplayer had some syncing issues when I last played it a few months before the release but most of the bugs were tolerable at that time. I’m guessing they have fixed most of them for full release and I can’t wait to do a full play through again now that it is out of early access.
The game also has several other game modes. I haven’t tried them so I won’t comment on them. The coop story mode is almost everything I have always wanted in an Open Sorld/Sandbox game.
I highly recommend this game.
